all they see are the red hats

swim team gb struggling for funding if they dont improve

why dont they spend some of their lottery funding improving their starts, they are 2 meters down after 10 meters almost every race, ffs
Report guinness2dear August 2, 2012 9:18 PM BST
Yep, noticed the slow starts (as has everyone but the BBC) unforgivable to be so many.

But as most of them are getting lapped, i don't think it matters all that much Tongue Out

lottery funding should be PB related, each month you show improvement you get the dosh, simple really Wink

it seems to me that those who do succeed, do so in spite of the system rather than because of it - breast stroke guys train together at Bath and Adlington is a winner who still trains in her local pool I believe.

if you bet IR based on their commentary you would be f@cked

To a large extent Rease, if an athlete has the talent then with the right attitude they will succeed whichever path they take. If they don't have quite the talent it doesn't matter how much funding you pump into them they wont make the very top

Royally Charlton, made a fortune in Beijing thanks to them, clueless

Love how they often flag up possible World Record with a length to go, most of the time they're over a second or two behind it!

Every race is unbelievable or the best swim they've seen in ages.  Not to mention some bloke called 'TheGreat Michael Phelps'
Report ReaseHeath August 2, 2012 10:51 PM BST
it would surely be more illuminating to dispense with the platitudinous post race interviews and ask them later in a press conference why they were incapable of performing to their best on the day that matters most.
