Absolutely scandalous.....each day they keep putting different days for different events on the site at exorbitant prices......you don't know where you are sitting but all tickets seem to be in excess of £140 and you can buy up to 4 tickets ?......last nights there were tickets to a tuesday and saturday evening with all other sessions sold out . This morning you can buy for two friday evening sessions....

Every time I turn on the tv to watch an event , there are empty seats everywhere.......I don't understand .

The tickets have been sold or allocated but people are not turning up for whatever reason. It happens

I can only assume these top price available tickets are returns from the sponsors etc.

Believe me , there are still tickets that haven't been sold.....They would not keep releasing tickets for Athletics if there were none , would they ?

Yes councillor, but there are massive blocks which are empty so it's not random no shows. And I find it a little hard to believe that complete sections set aside for the sponsors and such like have literally nobody showing up.

Brits and sport on a whole don't mix. They should have had a binge drinking event and I would have backed short odds all the seats would be taken for that.

Yomomma. We are a small nation if you put the thing in perspective so if we you did a percentage outturn of medals per capita we would near the top

This happened in Peking 4 years ago(what do the sponsors get 30%,40% of tickets per session for every event)

Seats not filled have been pre allcated to sponsors and Olympic officials. These people are obviously on a Jolly and are being enetrtained elsewhere no doubt and have no interest in watching the events.

I've twigged it now,sponsors dish out their allo,to whoever,those people either,don't want/can't afford to go or perhaps more importantly they can't resell them.
If what has happened has blocked the touts...good.

My nephew , who works full time professionally in a similar situation to those trying to sell ( or not sell ) tickets told me at the initial application process (rejection of valid sporting applications , non high profile ) that the organisation of the ticket sales could well be a complete shambles .  Sadly he has been proved correct .  I did not query his reasons for the statement at the time , but he obviously knew more than we did .

Maybe he should have applied for a "consultancy" job for the event ( probably a few of those about ) , might have helped them to get it better than they have done so far .

Loads of touts were arrested the other day. That imo is why there are a lot of empty seats. If people were allowed to sell tickets freely there would be no problem.

I applied for 12 lots of tickets and got one pair. My girlfriend another five - got none. She then got Boxing tickets but were told it was oversubscribed. I feel I've been utterly robbed.
