SEDITION!!!
HERESEY!!!! It's stuff like this that will get you banned from the Betfair Forum |
|
By:
i have been banned many times, when i have been offensive. that is part of the terms and conditions we agree to, so I take it on the chin.
there is nothing on the terms and conditions that we must echo the self loathing cynics living in Notting Hill and be anti the Olympics. so if i get banned for bigging up the British people, as a strict Constitutionist and respecter of private contracts, I will appeal. but Betfair will make millions from that other trait of the British apart from engaging enthusiasm and sense of fairplay. mindless gambling. |
|
By:
What are your views on that other British trait of rampant sarcasm?
|
|
By:
love it. always fools me, as a gullible farmboy from Palookaville.
part of the tendency towards self deprecation, that British trait of making sure anyone getting too flashy, too big for boots, is cut down to size. any sniff of bullcrapola quickly beaten out of the show off. sadly under threat as a national trait, as the Latin, Eastern and African trait of the reverse, bigging yourself up, braggadacio, "because I am worth it" attitude seeps into traditional British culture. |

You are forgiven - the 'Special Relationship' is once agin in equillibrium, but anymore Justin Bieber and we won't be responsible for the consequences.
....and before you start off, I know he's Canadian- still dangerously close though. |
|
By:
dont kick off? DONT KICK OFF???
whilst you sip yankee coke watching yankee porn on yankee iPad you blame us for a Canadian midget, even when you admit he is Canadian. take OneDirection and the Beckhams back. |
|
By:
You've never allowed One Direction house room have you?
Bloody hell, Customs And Immigration at Newark kept me waiting 2 hours to assess whether I was guilty of 'moral turpitude' last time I was over, yet this virus is give carte blanche!!! |
|
By:
we just don't like butlers.
it smacks of bowing down to royalty, european submissiveness to one's "betters". you seem a good guy roger, so feel a bit bad, but 2 hours to enter GOds LAnd seems fine to me. let the yahoos wait at heathrow. they can return home if they got a problem. |
|
By:
being a yankee, i dont mind blowing my own horn. living on a lonely farm i mean that literally as well as metaphorically.
in all the excitement, people forget how the first 48 hours was non stop moaning about 6 empty seats and how a transport system that copes with 4 million commuters and 10 football matches each saturday would struggle to cope with 150,000 turning up for the Olympics. it was a moanfest on here by crybaby middle aged losers. an American called it right. it has been immense. no olympics will come close to London 2012 EVER. EVER. only in UK would we see what we saw. Beijing was empty. Sydney was on at 4am and had an air of obnoxiousness as only the aussies can manage. the world has looked at London and the British people and gasped. what a nation. the fact yankees have slayed the fongs, even with all their pingpong and other non event domination, merely adds the cream. |

Some of us were on board Mister President!
But thanks for shining a light into the miserabilists corner once more. |

By:
Can you encourage the American news networks to rank their medal tables by the number of golds as opposed to total number of medals.
|
|
By:
It is a Medal table, rank according to numbers of medals. Does what it says on the tin.
Think you need to campaign for a Gold Medal table. |
|
By:
So according to you Britain are fourth in the medals table? Because everyone I have heard, says Britain are third.
|
|
By:
Whats the question?
3rd in number of golds 4th in number of medals |
|
By:
Bitter old Hans has devised his own interpretation of the medals table. It's different to everybody else in the world but it suits his agenda so let him get on with it. Sad to see jealousy of this kind.

i have no sway with the networks. we battered the fongs and the dmitris by both methodologies, so i find it irrelevant. best olympics ever, its the brits what did it. just dont ruin it tonight with the Spice Girls. give us it big. |
|
By:
Yeah
I wish it could just stop right after the medals ceremony for the Women's Pentathlon. I fear my sanguine, all-round good-guy persona may disappear in a cloud of Spice Girls / Annie Lennox inspired bile. |
|
By:
yes closing ceremony could be very cringeworthy
hopefully not Spice Girls were shee-ite first time round |
|
By:
boys, boys, boys, it will all be ok.
noone cares on closing. its been 110% immense and nothing is taking label best olympics ever from here. it aint danny boyle, some female in charge. spice girls are in it defo, i remember a couple of em looked ropey in their 20s, now in their 40s its going to be rough to stomach i am sure. its gonna be lunchtime over here, so i wont go big on the primerib beforehand in case. its supposed to segway into introducing rio, so once the moronity of excremental samba dancers or whatever comes on, anything london do will pale. spice girls will at least be a laugh, i am sure. |
|
By:
Agree with you that the Games have been brilliant, Ronnie.
To finish, a pectacular Closing Ceremony in a great atmosphere in Olympic Park. Unfortunately, yet predictably, all the goodness melted away at one minute past midnight, and it was back to the nanny state governed by the British Establishment's fear of the mob. My party made the mistake, leaving the stadium, of thinking that on that one night, things would be different, and the party atmosphere would continue in town. Accordingly went to the West End to find it locked-down. Awful. |

The Great HobNob turns up to town on a SUNDAY night at 2am wanting to party, and found places shut.
He immediately holds it to be a left wing, big government conspiracy. It is why we hold him to be as great as he is. |
