I am not and never will be a layer and will not be betting in the rowing at the Olympics, backing or laying.
However, I think Karsten in the Womens Single Sculls is beatable. By who I don't know, but she was the hottest favourite ever in Beijing and blew it, is 40 years old and whilst she does have 2 Golds to her name already the last one was 12 years ago. She won well in the last World Cup event in Munich but that is never a great form line as athletes are missing, tapering for the Olympics and generally messing about with tactics. |

Bolt is a small place lay at 1.2 in the 100m. A lot of sprinting is psychological and he knows that he doesn't have this one in the bag. Conceivably, there are 4 other boys capable of running a 9.7 and if he is a touch below his best (and I think that he might very well be), he would be vulnerable to someone running that time. He was Dq'd in the Worlds and I just wonder if he might get a little twitchy again as he is under immense pressure. I also don't see him busting a gut to finish 2nd or 3rd and if someone has just 'gone' I can see him tailing off over the last 30m.
That said, all the problems of the last year could just be sandbagging and he knows he is gonna run a 9.5 ![]() |

I do think Bolt is sandbagging. I never ever thought I'd see another runner at sub 2-1 against him in a final. Another lay for me, Yohan Blake in the 100m.
