In the Individual sprint Sir Chris Hoy will not be defending the title he won in Beijing and will compete in two events only, the team sprintt and keirin

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/olympics/18914825

anyway, having watched the world championships I can tell you that unless anything strange happens
the French sprinter, G.Bourge, is head and shoulders above the rest and rates a banker bet when the market opens

Kenny will never beat that French bloke he is a total beast

I have not studied it up yet, think there will be quite a few surprises, many countries have stepped up since beijing

dutch, french, aussie, german teams all strong and expect them all to win medals in the velodrome and it's anyones guess what colour

Its a shame the quality of the mens track events (sprint and keirin) have been heavily diluted by the decision to allow only 1 rider per country (its completely dominated by GB Australia Germany and France).  Bauge has looked imperious and unbeatable at times but beatable on occasions.  In the Worlds Kenny beat in the 2nd leg of the final with a masterful piece of quick thinking only to be dq'd.  He very much deserved the sprint place ahead of Hoy, who has been gracious enough to admit it.

A year ago Anna Meares looked unbeatable and utterly dominant, yet she only managed 1 gold out of 3 on home soil in the Worlds in March.

Now rick that comment to the thread starter who suggested Kenny may be too short against Bauge looks somewhat harsh given what you've said on this thread!!

I managed to lay £200 between the win and place markets on chris hoy in the sprint after it was known he wasn't riding. I fully expected betfair to void them but they settled them. I can't help feeling this isn't very fair really.

that's quite funny

nowt wrong with strong views, but to say things like WILL win just sets one up for a bit of ridicule.
Report buddeliea August 7, 2012 5:36 PM BST
