I'd love to lay her Love

If they did that kind of warts n all documentary about her opponents you would probably think the same about them.  Best to base bets on athletes' performances and not their interviews.

ps. I would also love to lay her!

was quite odd seeing someone who was completely dominated her event until recently being so obviously filled with self doubt and lacking in confidence

Didn't see the documentary so can't comment on Ms Pendleton specifically, but read something like 'The Secret Olympian' or Simon Hughes' book 'A Lot Of Hard Yakka' to see the level of self-doubt many top athletes have.

We like to think of them as being swaggering Gods and Godesses' hwereas in truth, this is often far from the case.

The Champions are those who have these doubts and execute their plans in spite of it.

Have been watching track cycling since the early 90s when she was a serial loser who was clearly not realising her potential and then in '05 she started her period of dominance.  Much of this was I think down to Steve Peters, who really worked her out very early - he is clearly one very smart guy.  I thought the programme was compelling having watched her ups and downs over the last 10 years and because she clearly said what she felt.  Don't knock her because she is not favourite this time round, she is probably past her best but she was THE BEST at her height.  She also has one helluva rival in Anna Meares, who herself has had a lot to contend with having come back from a serious crash and multiple injuries in early '08. On recent form, I would not expect Pendleton to win the sprint but I never underestimate GB Cycling's ability to deliver and personally this is a contest I'm really looking forward to.

When she is at her best no one can touch her. But whether she will be at her best os another matter altogether
