Just wondering any atlethics followers want to predict the winning time.
Lad.brokes have 9.80 - 9.99 at 4/1.
corals have 9.70 - 9.79 at 9/4
would dutching the 2 not have a very good chance.
The fact its in London with the possibility of dodgy weather I was thinking they might'nt run as fast as usual.
any opinions?

Up to 2004 no one had been below 9.8 in the Olympics.
9.84 in 1996 by Donovan bailey was the lowest time. Lump on the 4/1 imo |

Pure guesswork until you know what times the track is generating

Thats the one I was leaning towards Crisp alright as it looks value.
Maybe even a cover of the stake at the 9/4. Does anyone know what the times run in Britain usualy compare against other countries. Have tried googling results from British tournaments but am not having much luck. |

The more I think about this 4/1 seems absolutely huge!
Damp old London will not encourage a sub 9.7. I'd be balls deep on this if i could find the market!   |

im on 4/1 9.8-9.99 - it's massive value.
Blake and Bolt have been below 9.8 once each this year. Last week Gay won in London in 10.03 (not at olympic venue) |

A lot of the fast times seem to be wind assisted. Altitude doesn't appear to make much difference at 100m. The quickness of the track almost certainly will. I doubt they have put a slow track down as they'll want quick times. If the tracks quick and there is some sort of tailwind ,they'll probably be long odds on to beat 9.80 and they will have trained to peak for that one race. If there is a bit of a head wind and the track isn't that quick they may struggle to beat 9.80. Lot of unknown variables at this stage make it difficult imo to assess what the winning time will be . Mr Eboue - type in "100m winning time" in the space where it says search for your bets. |

everyone is getting carried away with the lightening tracks they had in Berlin and Beijing and Usain Bolt at the peak of his powers. Blake only has a pb of 9.75 and Bolt has been woeful by his standards over the past 2 years

The 22-year-old powered to a decisive victory in the 100m at the Spitzen meeting in Lucerne in 9.85sec – 0.01sec inside the meet record held by fellow Jamaican Nesta Carter. The time was 0.10sec shy of the 2012 world leading time he clocked when beating Bolt in the Jamaican Olympic trials. |

These tracks are getting to be a joke now. They will be running on trampolines soon.
Even in the last few years you can see how much they have improved. When Justin was doped up years he could only run the same times as he is now running aged over 30 and supposedly drug free |

WR still being backed at 2's. I'm flummuxed. Bolt's Berlin run is 1.7 metres ahead of anything that's been run since.

WR won't go but it's going to be lowe than 9.8 !! I would wants 10's for it to be higher

but when you get bolt, blake, gay, gatlin and that new one together they are gonna go fast

With fear of false starts greater than ever, none of the favs will risk "beating the gun".
Even if they do cut it fine, a "blistering start" shaves at the very most 0.03 off your time. That's about a foot. I'm not saying the record is unachievable. But the price is crazy wrong. |

start means the drive phase which lasts up to 30m, not just the reaction to the gun
jump out the blocks and get up to full speed quickly, if they are pushing each in a close run race it could very fast indeed |
