Top 8 nation football, motor sport, golf, rugby union, rugby league, cricket, athletics, boxing, swimming, horse racing, hockey pretty much every world sport.
No other country in the world can boast all that. Pick on somebody like the Chinese or Indians. They both represent a 1/4 each of the worlds population and do what exactly. |

2010 world cup (round 16) 2008 Euro cup (not make it euro) 2006 world cup (Q/F) 2004 Euro Cup (Q/F) (Top 8 at euros isn't top 8 in world) 2002 world cup (Q/f) 2000 euro cup (not get out of group) maybe you mean that sometime england might make the top 8 ...but to say you are in the top 8 over the last 10 years is wrong....if you going on FiFa ranking, then Egypt is in the top 10 soccer teams in the world then |

England always seeded in world cup soccer finals, if you consistently get to Qfinals of world cup soccer finals easily in top 6. qfinals always have 2 or 3 sides where its the only time they reach that level. Egypt NEVER have got to Qfinal I dont understand the point.
UK is top 10 Olympic nation isnt it so dont understand that point either. Its no 1 motor sports, 2 in golf, these are huge sports, no way 8th in everything. we know Australia is a great sporting nation. unfortunately playing mostly the sports of its colonial masters, which gives it all their chip on shoulder attitude means not as many people in the world understand that as should. |

Rugby League and Cricket are not world sports either like. Personally I'd say there are only 3 true global sports though Football by a massive distance then Track Athletics and then Boxing. Australia much worse than GB at all three. |

I not talk about Aussie Rules, as it only played in australia and only 4 out 6 states in Australia play it...but really, you just don't understand how big Aussie Rules is in those 4 states.. it really the only sport that matters I really think the world lucky soccer not the number 1 sport in Australia |

0.3 billion out of 6 billion I make 5%. Australia is awesome at sports we know that, but lose the pommie hatred, just makes Australia look small islanders with chip on shoulder. Poms are good at sports. Unfortunately those the Aussies play poms at are public school sports, played by a population half of New Zealand. Brits do well enough in that context. |
