Isnt it the rule still that ALL SWIMMERS have to remain in the pool until the last team finishes? I remember the USA team getting DQ once as they got out before a team miles behind finished.
Well in todays mens 4*200 freestyle the Aussie got oou of pool before last 23 teams finished. So shouldnt Aussies be DQd and Scotland get the gold?

Sorry for crap typing W hen i watched it and Aussie got out my initia instinct was, hold on thats  a disqualifiable offence...im sure its etiquette to wait until last team finishes before getting out..really surprised BBC guys didnt raise it

noticed this straight away, and the aus commentators brought it up but has not been a protest- would hope no dq happens as they obv won race easily fair and square and their actions did not hinder anybody else, but it is the rules, however stupid the rule is

I remember GB once got disqualified in a 4*400 metres athletics race for standing in wrong order for batton change, so yes some teams are bloody minded enough to protest as it was Germans who got GB dqd then...find it amazing that these sport stars paid millions and dont know rules...like footballers who call offside on a throw in!
