They have been charged with historical child sex abuses, but no naming of ethnicity but mainly from the Walsall area. However, the West Midland Police Chief Insp stated: "We understand that this investigation will cause concern in the local community and I'd like to assure anyone affected by it that we take all reports of abuse seriously, no matter how long ago it happened."

From the local rag depress and blah

All 26, aged between 20 and 69, will appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on June 22 and 23.

The defendants are from Wolverhampton, Walsall including Bloxwich, Palfrey, Shelfield, Moxley and Rushall, West Bromwich, Bilston and Redcar in Cleveland.

The offences date back to between 2008 and 2016.

Chief Inspector Jo Floyd said: "This is a complex investigation involving several young people who have suffered physical and emotional abuse.

"They were safeguarded as allegations were reported and we are continuing to work with a number of other agencies to ensure they receive the support they need as this case progresses.

"We understand that this investigation will cause concern in the local community and I would like to reassure anyone affected by it that we take all reports of abuse seriously, no matter how long ago it happened.

"We have specially trained officers who can deal with reports sensitively and compassionately."

Finally, have the BBC found something to drive "man drives to Durham" off their main bulletin?
"26 charged with child sexual abuse in largely pleasant relationships".

It's almost worth paying for a license just to not see the report that won't exist on the 6pm news.

The report on the effects of Covid-19 has on BAME was out in a jiffy. Let's hope the report on the grooming of vulnerable young white females by mainly Pakistani minicab drivers is out very soon too despite being commissioned well before the presence of Covid-19.
