Statues of Winston Churchill commemorate the leader of this country in the darkest hours of modern history.
They must remain in place.
They must not be defaced.
They have been targeted for 30 years or more, and it needs to stop.

Well said. The protesters who threaten these sort of statues must be complete idiots if they dont understand they lose any sympathy for their cause by behaving like they do.

A good point, but that's not even the reason he must stay.
It's beyond debate really. Newspapers showing pics next day helped protestors pick him as a target as defacing his statue elevated even minor protests into newsworthy articles in their eyes. Maybe stick a camera up, and lock up anybody defacing statue for 6 months |
