darren ... i'm a huge fan and have done plenty of research . it can't be proved but the most likely scenario is she died of an overdose (she had a few near misses in the past ) and the delays to a search , moved body , etc, is a result of the kennedy/ fbi people ensuring there was no linking evidence to them when the body was found .
i mention the moved body as key .some doctors and theorists said the position she was found in proved it . this does not prove murder , they probably rolled her to ensure no suicide note was hidden underneath her . her affair with both the kennedys was well known in ' the circles ' . on its own , yes , could have been enough motive to bump her off but more significantly she was at the time clinging on to a revival of her career and was realistically facing rejection on a personal and professional level . having been through numerous foster parents , a mother detained due to mental health , a father who refused to acknowledge her , a string of dubious flings resulting in abortions and miscarriages and constant fear she was not fit to be a serious actress it is amazing she lived to her age at all . film wise . watch gentlemen prefer blondes as a great example of her as a comedy actress. also the misfits as a serious role whilst her whole life untangled . book wise ; there are so many so start with the least sensational titles .yes , you need photos . she held a camera shot like no other . it still makes me shake my head in despair when the likes of amanda holden are described as ' stars ' and ' beautiful ' .... |

There is a nice story about her in Capote's Music for Chameleons.

interesting winsor knot, it's a plausible theory she was bumped off but the previous overdoses would be convenient for anyone who wanted to drug her.

saddo , let me know it . i can't recall it . the picture of capote dancing with marilyn is a classic . she is clearly uncomfortable but he can't look at her as he is fixed on looking at those looking at him .

darren,
she would have been an incredibly unreliable witness. there was also , apparently , basic filmed bits of ' unseen ' meetings with her and others . it is , of course , the main focus of people but i feel slightly annoyed as a fan .... marilyn made loads of movies , had loads of great still photos ( the images of the time are amazingly modern ) , is still iconic to the highest imitated level ( hello , madonna ) and yet all many can remember is her death . lets look at her in life instead . |
