Just about to watch Storyville on BBC iPlayer. The O J story. The historical imagery being so in the now, quite amazing. Quite an amazing documentary, highly recommended specially to the crackers on here also sports fans, psychology students, history students and anyone who wants to watch good tv.

Forty years ago when I worked in Africa I asked people what they thought of Zulu.  They said they enjoyed it.
My impression was they thought it was a good film, and it was good to have a major film of events (accurate or not).
They were not too wrapped up in the white / black aspect.

The British army had Martini-Henry rifles at Isandlwana and Rourkes Drift, The Enfield variant came in a few years later.

Zulu Dawn, the first hour or so is utterly boring, however the battle scenes at the end of the film are some of the best Iv'e seen in any film.

now now, you know the government never fell. 2nd invasion put paid to the mistakes of the 1st

in April 1880 love. It was a huge scandal as was the death of the Prince Imperial later and had serious implications for the British Empire.

This was the battle preceding Rorke's Drift(Zulu) earlier the same day

When the entire British Forces advancing into Zululand were ambushed and massacred by the Zulus, nobody understands to this day how the Zulus did it.

It was a complete embarrassment for the British Empire, and the reason so much was made of Rorke's Drift and all the VC's awarded was to try and hide

our embarrassment of our defeat at Isandlwana
