Nothing new there. For instance, Britain went cap-in-hand during Norman Lamont's tenure as Chancellor; Greece austerity; Italy's request for medical and financial assistance. All ignored or with punitive rates.
But, always and willing to give scarce funds to those new EU members on long term benefits. |
