Last day of term we pretended to make friends with an indian kid.  He was dorkish, could hardly speak english and didn't like sport.  All massive red flags to us.  We gave him a good thrashing once we were outside the school gates.   Thank you father crisp77 for allowing me to confess this shameful act in a safe space.

At Junior school when we played blacks v whites  at football in the playground I always played for the  blacks ,,,I am white

i live in a place that never had many black people living as a kid only  one or two, they werent abused, treated any different to anyone else, there was one kid in my age group in school, yes 1 in about 400 pupils, we were all friends with him, until sports day when he would bloody hammer us in the 110 yard sprint, and i was always 2nd :laugh:]. so i have to be honest and the only things that i saw racist was on tv like love thy neighbours, but even then , it was a laugh, i loved the black man in it, and then it was racist both ways with sam  bo and white honkey, even on the buses had chalkie. FOR ME  racist has only come across last few years on these social platforms, and film stars, soccer players yes the black ones always saying that its racism this and that and the other  .
i,ll tell you imo the people that are being subjected to raceism now is the{ normal 50 year old+ man) like me who cant say nowt about anything, dont get considered for jobs, if we say hello to a woman, were dirty old men and dont ever dare wolf whistle or say you look nice to anyone, and if you say you dont agree with gays marrying  you should be burned at the stake, and dont even go to these 100s of genders  which my opinion is madness .
i know my rant isnt written down or explained well, but im certain most of you know what i mean and a lot of you probably agree, , but scared to tell it.

No doubt it is partly a generational thing for many. My parents generation (born between 1910 and 1916 were openly racist and nationalist (mainly against Germans for obvious reasons) but they had never met anyone who was not white in rural Gloucestershire farming circles. My generation (I am 76) slowly changed most of our views (no non white pupils in my school that I can recall) but we were helped by things like going to University (I shared an office with a man from Nigeria when doing a postgraduate degree in America from 1966-68) and as cricket was played between ex pat teams that included Anzacs, Indian and West Indian students, I was soon very comfortable in their company until Luther King and Bobby Kennedy were shot and things got very tense for a while. My middle aged children are very non-racial compared to myself at the same age and grandchildren see nothing unusual about a mixture of racial types in school. We are all influenced by our early years whether we like it or not.

Back in the 80's, watching the Olympic athletics events with some ethnic friends, I confessed that I held a strong bias towards the 100m and 200m sprints, which I thought were superior races to the 1500m, 5000m and, especially, the 3000m steeplechase, which I could not tolerate. As a kid I used to love watching Glasgow Rangers on  tv but I couldn't warm to Celtic(nor the hibbees) there was something alien about them I could not put my finger on.  Must of mentioned it to my nan cos she said they were something called 'catholic'.   Same with Spurs all the other London clubs had a familar feel to them they seemed different.  Apparently they were 'jewish'.  Ah mysteries solved.  Not really racist or sectarian just a perceptive kid.

Back in the 80's, I entered a shop in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham with my ex at the moment a black lady was being 'served' by a very brusque shop assistant. I saw the lady reach into her purse and pull out a credit card to pay for her purchase, all quite normal. But then the assistant, waving the card, loudly and rudely insisted that she had to phone the customer's credit card company to 'check' her card was valid (which it was).

I'm sure the assistant only took this action cos the customer was black, but I just stood there in shock and did nothing.

The funny thing was these attractive nude women would have their A holes airbrushed out the thing is though I always shot my load on the white women and never the women of colour.

Is the "Asian Babes" magazine still going?  That became a bit of an obsession with 'Private Eye' (because of the publisher) back in the day.
