The Christian Brothers were going to give you an education whether you complied or not,if you didn't you could be persuaded to come around to their way of thinking,you were better off.
A few were knobbers,very few and only heard of 1 throughout my life and that was at a different school,most were what i class as Christian and good people as i look back.

I have nothing to say about racism,the world has moved on,i do understand a lot of it but too much negativity,rather than that,what is missing from when i was young is community spirit,that is a shame.

No offence intended. I went to very good Catholic Schools. One in fact run by Jesuits. They were proponents of tough love but they also taught the teachings of the Bible, of love not hate. I went to see Dachau Concentration Camp when I was a kid. Even 30 years after it closed there were no birds singing in the tree's. I have seen where hate leads and that is why I turn the comments of people like woundedknee and dambuster back on themselves and it gets under their skin. I don't want my country to become like America where Militarised Police fire tear gas and rubber bullets at peaceful protesters and attack press and TV crews.

Not at all WD,i have the greatest of respect for you,on reflection my experience isn't of course everyones and people are entitled to voice criticism if they feel it is deserved.
