Early conclusions drawn?
- It IS possible for a relatively small number of people (Hundreds? Less?) to lock our entire species in their homes using data and maybe a few crying actors* - The vast vast majority of the species will embrace the protection or at the very least tolerate it. - Two areas that previously had a reputation for freedom and liberty (UK and US) now have a precedent to revoke liberty. They are no longer the defenders of freedom on this planet. The only country left that isnt prepared to lock up its citizens is Sweden. Sweden are unlikely to convince other countries to follow their lead. - Future threats to civilisation, real or invented, will now have an expectation of government authoritarianism. Opportunities for our species to learn how to work together in a crisis, without the threat of goverment violence and imprisonment, are now reduced to zero. *not saying there hasnt been genuine tragedy last few months, only that a future ruse has been proved possible. |
