The whole interview worth a watch but a key passage exists at 12.45 – 19.36 …

“The stand out losers are countries like Austria, Australia, Israel, that actually had very strict lockdowns but didn’t have many cases, they have damaged their economies, caused massive social damage, damaged the educational year of their children but not obtained any herd immunity.”

“The damage done by lockdown will exceed any saving of lives by a huge factor”

“The amount of excess death you need to reach saturation, I’m not going to call it herd immunity , but when the virus by itself stops is on the order of 4 weeks of excess deaths.”

He gives the example of Europe -

Europe = 300 million people , every week there are 50,000 natural deaths, so 4 weeks equates to 200,000 extra deaths in that year. It looks like Corona virus will hit around 200,000 or around 4 weeks worth.

The interviewer doesn’t do a great job here but the vital point appears to be the absolute inevitability of achieving that death tally in order that the virus be brought under control.

Same pattern in every country.

A set of a population get infected. The people most prone to it catch it and some unfortunately die.

About 4-6 weeks after the first few deaths (number depends on population size) then the number of deaths start to fall.

Lockdown fanatics will not admit it though. Their witch craft science will not allow it.

Hand washing and keeping a metre apart is not the unnecessary lockdown of young healthy people no reason.
