huge rant on bbc, just said he prided himself on telling the truth

The bloke should not be on tv, what is his role in society ?

no he didn't but dont let the truth get in the way of a post


it's pretty much what he was saying.

he said "I was lucky enough to work with Tony Blair, the Prime Minister, who I could trust, and who I could trust to both make important decisions and also to have an eye for the truth, the problem with Boris Johnson is he has no care for the truth, he is a liar, Dominic Cummings is a liar, they have shown that throughout their careers, and this has exposed them as hypocrites as well, "

That is someone who prides himself on truth when you are hammering someone else for having a career based on not telling the truth, yet it's breath-taking considering he was the man advising the country to go into the Iraq War, in his diary he once wrote "I just about convinced myself because it was my job to support it" and he also wrote that "one cause of his depression was the he secretly agreed with his wife, Fiona Miller, that Iraq war was a bad mistake"

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but he has basically confessed to supporting a decision not because he believed it was his truthful opinion to go to war in Iraq but because he was making a career decision, that is as hypocritical as you can get.

I honestly just think it would be much much better for the Labour party is the likes of Blair and Campbell just faded away in to the background because they do more harm than good, and Labour needs to lose the shackles of that past.
