I'd have taken the child to the grandparents, but with the knowledge of the police in London and Durham prior (given his profile), if no safe and practical alternative could be found; after the parents the grandparents are the next best alternative as childminders.

On 2nd thought I think he ought to resign or sack by Bojo because he's an un-elected member of the government. Thus he's just an ordinary member of the public with connection to the government. The Conservative Party can retain him and pay his wages, but not from the public purse.
