Starmer
Until 12 March, the government’s own official advice was - and I’m quoting from it: “It remains very unlikely that people receiving care in a care home will become infected.” Does the prime minister accept that the government was too slow to protect people in care homes?

Johnson
No, Mr Speaker. And it wasn’t true the advice said that.

Weird from Boris. Why not just say it was indeed unlikely, even with cases having happened unfortunately?

That would not have been a lie. Boris is taking the whole "I know I'm lying, I know that you know I'm lying, and I couldn't care less that you know" gig too far.

As a keen researcher of all the many forum glitches, and of their workarounds, I'm still a bit puzzled what exactly prevents a link from being truncated in forum liveview. I know it standing alone in a post always truncates longer links. Text and linebreaks preceding or succeeding a longer link usually prevents it being being truncated. Your post looks like it has a linebreak, and the relevant tags show in the source code, but it still get's truncated.

AHA! The difference is that Angoose made a space directly preceding the line break, as in "Rafael Behr. ", while I had written "Rafael Behr." and then immediately the linebreak.

The plot thickens that potentially a space being the last character before or after a longer link makes it be truncated.

...1st time poster, you don't mind this, do you? It is for science! If you tell me to fook off I will though.

I'd seen you write about this before and wasn't clear on as to why you believed a space was required.
I didn't think it was and I make no special allowance.

As such, I reckon it has more to do with your browser and / or how you copy the website address.

By:

I think it might be the combination of ". " that triggers truncation (or rather doesn't prevent it from being truncated).

But I also speculate now that, in multi-link posts, the first link might decide whether any subsequent posts get truncated whether you are having a banana or not.
