i think we can all agree blair and brown were tory lite. Well Blair was actually full on right wing thatcherite,
Cheap housing, cheap beer, job security, no slags with tattoos, no foul mouthed little **** yobs( well nowhere near as there are today) no shame about being poor( these days the media paint poor people as scum). Properly funded NHS, decent welfare state.

There was conflict and class war in industry, a sharp downturn in the economy, a flight to extremism in politics, and a rise in public and domestic violence. Filthy unions with too much power and strikes all the time, blackouts were regular It was like the dark ages with dead bodies lying in the street and garbage everywhere as the winter of discontent bit hard 3 day weeks Callaghan panicked and had to go to the IMF for a handout. It was later discovered that the boffins had made a mistake with the projections and the UK didn't actually need the cash Thatcher saved the country Anybody who can't see how Thatcher transformed the country is thick as sh1t Manufacturing and coal was dying on it's arse and she had the bollocks to put it out of it's misery I think you will find it was Blair and Labour that truly fcuked the country Mass uncontrolled immigration and benefit streets created all over the UK |

I was born when Wilson was PM and it was a far better country than it was under Thatcher.
