It is not best practice for a government to risk the lives of the little children of the country to test the strength of the spread of corona virus.
To consider this idea of sending children back to school is using the children as guinea pigs. The good people of the country should let the government know in no uncertain terms that this is not an option. If this gamble backfired it could turn into a holocaust.Scientists do not know enough about this dangerous virus.
This is how i feel.Sad

Well the facts are worldwide that children are the least affected by this. In fact the risk to them is virtually zero.

brassneck has been headlocked by the media.Dotch is correct.

i'm half expecting a teachers strike when primary schools are opened up

the scientists say "they are learning more about the virus every day" but they have changed direction a few times already,What happens if the virus mutates and decides to attack children"nobody knows for certain what it will do,the virus is only six months old.it could still be developing.
Report Baphornet • May 7, 2020 3:10 PM BST
it would be the end of existence if ye cut down everything because of what a virus "may" do next' The daft boffins dunno what the hell to do about the one already here

I cant help thinking we are heading towards a total economic disaster thats going to kill 100 times more than this virus given that there are so many spineless paranoid people out there who I cannot see returning to any sort of useful employment.

Just imagine how this country would react to a proper serious disease like ebola.

they could open collages first, the 18-23 year old could be more stronger to fight the virus should they catch it.
Report brassneck • May 7, 2020 3:26 PM BST
Remember they know for certain that this virus is going to about until they find a vaccine or a cure.and that's a year away.
Report Baphornet • May 7, 2020 3:28 PM BST
more chance of those "breaking the rules" though, brassy

i think Herbie gave everyone a clue yesterday about the one year off a vaccine dream
Report brassneck • May 7, 2020 3:40 PM BST
but at least they have a choice, the little children don't even know what social distancing means.
And it will be very difficult to tell a bunch of children that they must keep their distance.
Report Baphornet • May 7, 2020 3:43 PM BST
why would they need to keep their distance from each other?

Children may not get the virus but they could spread it by carrying it.that's why hugging is banned at the moment between adults and children.the jury is still out on hugs at the moment.

The US strain is causing big problems for kids........
Report Baphornet • May 7, 2020 4:08 PM BST
there is no way little one could be kept from each other; so if primary schools were allowed to open, they would be allowed to mix; If that isn't possible - then they stay shut
Report eyeball • May 7, 2020 4:14 PM BST
If the virus was here pre christmas , the kids had been running around with each other for at least three months with a handful of deaths . More chance of being run over imo .

if a child put their hand on a corona virus infected door handle and then walked out of school and hugged their grandparent the grandparent is likely to get full blown virus by transmission, but because Herbie has not done his proper track and trace by testing, testing, testing,he has now come up with the idea to let the children go back to school and see what happens, lack of testing has caused all this delay to release the lockdown ,and the economy is about to buckle,so Herbie says to himself"lets take a chance and throw the children back to school and see if the virus spreads, money is more important than lives, lets take a gamble Boris"
Report stridingedge • May 7, 2020 4:27 PM BST
Kids back to school Brass wouldn't mean they should start mixing with anyone in the more vulnerable groups still. You need an order to release the lockdown and it obviously needs those at lower risk given more freedom first.

The only way to build up more community protection for all at the lowest risk.
Report brassneck • May 7, 2020 4:43 PM BST
They still have to find out how the virus is spreading and the only way to do that is by testing, track and trace, all the countries have their T.T.T. done and have a fair idea of what is safe for their country ,but England are 3 weeks behind with their T.T.T and the people are getting fed up.
Report Baphornet • May 7, 2020 4:45 PM BST
precisely; so how long do we wait? If you're waiting for a vaccine, brassy all our toes will be turned up
Report brassneck • May 7, 2020 4:57 PM BST
if Germany ,France,Spain,OR Italy see a possible second wave they can lockdown straight away because the now have their T.T.T. but England are trying to release their lockdown without their T.T.T. up to speed ,hence the idea to get the schools open ,to get them started and take pressure of the government. They are about to take a serious risk in my opinion.
