The conditions set out in the Government's own five tests for easing lockdown measures haven't been met.

Lockdown to be extended in Scotland
The lockdown is to be extended in Scotland, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has announced.

"Extreme caution is required at this critical juncture," she said.

By law, the social distancing measures across the UK have to be reviewed every three weeks.

However Ms Sturgeon said it was too soon to make meaningful changes without risking a resurgence of the virus.

The latest I've heard is that any easing of restrictions are unlikely to be as generous (for want of a better word) as the newspapers are suggesting.

I got to put this out there but I think we need to get back to work quickly.

I said long ago I wasn't an expert or scientist but I am sure I would have done a better job than these clowns. Unfortunately now probably is when the science is needed. We should have been testing for people who have had it in huge numbers to see if there is some sort of natural immunity out there. Will it affect healthy young people in numbers? I think not.

Fat people, unhealthy people and old people protect yourselves at all times should be the advice. Now lets get on with it. Again unfortunately we have not done the science because we have stupid incompetent people in charge so we are flying blind. Hopefully we can garner some information from Spain and Italy and the USA of course.

Whatever the medical implications the Government have been hiding behind the sofa when it comes to the economy. We are in deep dudu! The new crisis will not have scientists to hide behnind although it might have the new scientists...Economists doing the briefings!

What the "newspapers are suggesting" is largely driven by what they are briefed by government sources.

They stick ideas out there in the public domain, then gauge the reaction as part of a rinse and repeat cycle.

Ive travelled around quite a bit this week and found the city and the two towns ive been into were quieter than I expected. Theres definitely plenty of seriously paranoid people furtively darting about though.
I really doubt some of them will ever fully recover.

It's all so transparent, they are sacrificing people and the more they encourage people without actually saying it like the media
all front page news about lockdown released on monday then the brainwashing commences as per..Spains already showing,it's siply not working another 3,000 cases today and still over 200 deaths, what's going to happen is the deaths will be made acceptable and more will again be swept under the carpet..
By:
Dotchinite
When: 07 May 20 13:32
The brainwashing bit was scaring the population to death to make them stay inside and hide from a virus that is nothing more than a mild illness for the vast majority. The problem was they did it too well and now people want to hide away forever.

The Scots are going to be the beneficiaries of the Irish experience. The Irish were given the choice of oil or potatoes and they chose potatoes. The Scots have the choice of oil or Union for their survival. It would be ironic if they chose oil!

Over a million live in Birmingham so compariso wise figures shouldv'e been huge,i'm still expecing those northern figures to get even worse and places like Birmingham must be certain to rise at somepoint if restrictuons are lifted with a million population.
