BBC1 now, really think blokes are a waste of time at childbirth myself, think should take the victorian stance and wet the babies head whilst awaiting news and being presented with a nice cleaned up baby afterwards.
Know the "New" men love it, but i could have done without being present.

No, but it put me off for ages, i'm a bit squeamish and what we put our women through!

Once saw a documentary on television - Where they were being shown around 'Royal Photographer' Patrick Lichfield's large home, Shugborough Hall in Staffordshire.

The female interviewer noticed some photographs of children on display - and said - "these will  be your children?"

In typical female mindset - her next soppy question was .... "Were you present at the births?"

Lord Lichfield's answer was perfect - in my view ...

"Oh, no - certainly not ... Some things are best left to the imagination."

Bloody brilliant.  GrinHappy

I was under strict instruction not to venture down the business end. And on reflection, I think that's the best strategy.

Lot's of gas and air needed at daughters birth, but I did save some for the missus.
