£75 x 24 + £79 = £1879

Bit steep.....but need it quick as my iPhone 6 Plus started phantom typing when I had the keyboard open.....ringing random people .....not very  relaxing.

Three reception is very poor for me. I use EE £64 monthly plus £90 upfront. Also unlimited data. Works best for me.

Buy from John Lewis £779. The way I say it the phone is a minimum 2 year investment so approx £30 a month or £1 per day for the phone.
Sim I pay another £30 a month with 3. I have excellent 4G coverage where I live and the sim is unlimited data.

So all in all for £2 a day for 2 years it seems a decent deal to me

Steve, take a moment to think about this if you have not already ordered the phone. Do you really need unlimited data? Would 100GB not be sufficient? You can get the Iphone 11 on three contract, for £45 monthly for 24 months and no upfront payment. Thats £1080 total payment.  Worth considering unless you really need unlimited data.

I have a 6 plus.  I had similar problems with the screen...when typing in it didn't recognise what I was entering....thought it was a screen problem
took it to Apple shop who said it was a known problem and that replacing the screen wouldn't solve the problem.  He gave me the choice of giving me a
new 6 plus for £90.  1 year warranty.  This I did because I was only paying about £8-10 a month SIM only.  That was about a year ago.  Obviously, I don't use much data.

This has done the job for me and saved me loads.

Replace my wive's iPhone 4 with a 7 a few months ago.  What we did was took out a contract with O2.  Under the terms of the approx £25-30 per month contract, we could pay off the balance on
the phone approx £275 immediately after taking it out, then go to SIM only - with any company, but we decided to stick with O2.  Had to clarify this with them several times as it seemed too good to be true.

Steve, thats through Affordable Mobiles. Highly recommend them. Their phones come from Data Select which is Peter Jones ( Dragons Den) distribution company. I got mine delivered in only 3 days.

Watch out for the silicon Valley libs who will be tracking your every move using it, Steve

Buy a new iphone se £419, get a sim £9 a month with 30 gig of data, which is what ive got.

That was the market rate at Three so had to pay it....came next day !

Got an iPhone SE on release 4 years ago and still use it. Still works as fast as ever but the battery doesn't last as long as it used to. They used to deliberately slow down older models after about 3 years but they got caught and stopped doing that.

Will probably upgrade to the latest version on the next release around Sept/Oct and I'll probably get a new battery for my SE then too as you can still use it like an ipod touch and for things like spotify etc. Wouldn't get any trade in value for it as the screen is slightly damaged. Batteries don't cost very much, about £50. Buy the new phone outright and get a cheap 30 day SIM only plan if you can afford it, you will save hundreds that way.

If your 6 can be sorted I wouldn't bother and if the battery is degraded I'd consider getting a new battery. Google how to fix it and what people who've got a new battery say about it. Doing a hard reset might work. The 11 seems to be expensive because of the camera and unless you're into taking advanced pics I wouldn't bother.

Yes. Since Apple confirmed the practice in 2017, it has implemented it on several more iPhones including:

    Tap 'Battery Health'

Ok Steve. Good luck with whatever deal you go for. I would not touch a reconditioned  phone myself. Quite surprised at your assessment of the guy. I have the opposite view. Definitely brand new phones.

They only slow down an older phone when it has experienced an unexpected shutdown because the battery couldn't deliver  peak performance power, not automatically, and you can reverse this if they do it.

Getting a new battery for £50 seems a better option than getting a new expensive phone with features (mainly enhanced camera) that may be of no use to you and not worth upgrading for. Assuming you can fix the typing issue etc

In those battery health settings you can check what level your battery is at compared to when it was new. My phone is 4 years old and it says the battery is operating at 80% capacity.

My brother-in-Law used to work in management at Phones4u with Peter Jones....doesn't have much complimentary to say about him....can't say more as he could sue !

Jones ran logistics at John Caudwell's Phones 4U for a year, before walking out to start Phones International in direct competition with his old boss.
