New York Governor Andrew Cuomo also took aim at the "international health community", national experts and US media outlets for not raising the alarm of a looming pandemic.

"Governors don't do global pandemics," Cuomo said.

"Where were all the experts? Where was the New York Times? Where was the Wall Street Journal? Where was all the bugle blowers who should say' be careful, there's a virus in china that may be in the United States.'"

"It's not a state responsibility," he said.

US newspapers and other news sites had published articles on the WHO describing the coronavirus as a global health emergency as early as January.

Cuomo's comments come as New York leaders receive increasing attention for a delayed response to the virus.

True the WHO etc was slow off the mark but we all knew how bad it was in China whilst the Mayor was still telling people to go on the Metro etc in early March.

We all saw this out of Wuhan published in February....

He is spot on.

One of the big eye openers during the pandemic is that most of these "experts" are bull****s. I'd include "Research Charities" in this as well.

People rightly hammering Trump for throwing "Cures" out there but plenty of "Cures" being thrown about by all amount of clueless guessers in the scientific and medical educational communities recently including one who claimed the BCG vaccine could be a cure.

Research charities are pumped with billions ever year and make minimal progress. An absolute racket.

The WHO wonder why the anti Vac movement has taken off whilst they push the likes of Bill Gates and Lady Gaga as people worth listening to

Cuomo is still very much bad and did some dithering when he could have been acting too.

Its just he has briefing most days, fires back against Trump and sounds competent so Dems obsessed with optics love him

He was just being a little more honest and showing care and empathy for his people, you know like a President is supposed to

It comes down to reality
And it's fine with me 'cause I've let it slide
I don't care if it's Chinatown or on Riverside
I don't have any reasons
I left them all behind
I'm in a New York state of mind
Oh yeah
It was so easy living day by day
Out of touch with the rhythm and blues
But now I need a little give and take
The New York Times, the Daily News
Who, oh, oh whoa who

Not particularly wrong.

It's just that some people (centrists) would be able to cope with Trump if only he wasn't an all round horrible person. When the issues go way beyond that, they could accept a bit more civil racism or damaging republican policies if only he was a little more polite.

I think plenty of these people would vote for MAGA with a blue hat and they will probably back Cuomo for his trump style rhetoric no doubt
