Some scumbags of the above are claiming £10k from the coronavirus support fund, an MP claims. MP Tim Farron warns they are applying for small business grants  having declared their properties as holiday lets.

The law currently enables people who used 2nd-homes as businesses to avoid council tax, and holiday lets can be registered for business rates if the property is available to let for 140 days per year. Mr Farron believes as many as 1500 people in the South Lakes area have properties masquerading as holiday-lets and therefore able to claim grants from the corona business fund.

What a bunch of scumbags? Bought 2nd-homes thus uppin gthe property prices and depriving the locals of affordable accommodation to rent pr buy. And, now are trying to take advantage of the coronavirus fund setup to help small businesses.

You have a student working part time say 2 days a week in Ireland and for arguments sake earns 160 euro for that, now on the goverments 350 euro a week for zilch
I don't blame goverments who drew things up very quickly.
What will happen soon is things like hospices, good charites will have nothing and not sure they can be helped.
