Must be a horrible way to leave the planet .

One - third of the total food produced in the western world goes to waste .

Can somebody please confirm these results please because i find them really upsetting .

Thanks in advance .

Its about right, to include hunger related issues the figures are all around 8 million a year mark.

Very difficult to imagine.

What a sad race we have developed into from top to bottom of society.

Not only that but the EU produces much more food than it needs and sells some of the excess to Africa below cost and this hinders agricultural development in Africa because it isn't viable to produce it themselves when food can be imported so cheaply.

we could stop exploiting Africa and let them become somewhat self-sufficient for starters. But it's a pipe dream.

Exploitation is what makes people and countries rich. You have to keep the poor down if you want to maintain that, unfortunately. In the West it used to be called slavery, now it's called minimum wage. Not much different now, the worker gets more freedom but has to pay for food, clothes and a roof over his head instead of his owner.

Oh, we can build a miraculous flying machine that can travel through space nearly a million miles away.
It then lands on Mars, takes pictures that are beamed back to Earth to view on a screen. Some will open up
and takes samples and fly back. Etc etc etc

Large numbers starve to death on a daily basis, imagine not eating for 3 days.
Like Jack Dempsey said when bare knuckle fighting, you`ve no idea what it`s like to not eat or days, i get back up again
and again to collect my 2 dollars.

Out of sight and out of mind unfortunately, as big a bawbag as geldof is, and he is numero uno, at least he brought it to an audience. Come to think of it, its a close call between him, sting and bono, but that's another debate.

I read recently that the number of people in the brink of starvation has more than doubled in the last month from 1.25 million to 2.65 million.

With food production in many parts of the world being forcibly stopped, the 25k a day looks set to rise.

That's a helluva lot of extra mouths to feed in countries where the majority poor struggle to feed themselves daily.
