Ofcom has ruled that London Live broke broadcasting rules and posed “significant harm to viewers in London during the pandemic” by broadcasting an eighty minute interview by David Icke.

The media regulator imposed a sanction on ESTV, which owns London Live, following the interview in which Icke suggested the coronavirus pandemic was part of a plot by governments to destroy the economy and conduct mass surveillance.

“Our investigation found David Icke expressed views which had the potential to cause significant harm to viewers in London during the pandemic,” Ofcom said in a statement.

I watched it...I did not pick up on that???

I thought he was complaining about the amount of government control us, through the use of cards not cash, mobile phones, etc

Still I am always the last to know

There is a big difference between government controlling people and deliberately killing people with a virus, which I would not believe??

How has Icke got away with this.
Surely he has committed a crime if had "potential to cause harm to viewers" ?

Most of our laws are to protect people or property. Guess the CPS know more about the law - hope they are looking at the evidence.

He is dangerous.

Its only when you read Wiki that you understand how mad he really is!
The mind boggles when you try to read it all ...
How the feck does he make it all up ... and the sad thing is he actually has people who believe him!

He's a very sane person, conspiracies are his income, inducing outrage is his forte and it works.

He's also entitled to say what he thinks and attempts to silence him is not only against free speech but it give further credence to the argument the 'truth' is being covered up.

He can't say what he wants if it is against the law.

Many people have been invited to attend a UK court because they said what they wanted.

I think he lives in UK lurka .
Although can still commit a crime in UK if not physically present in UK.

Could still stick out an arrest warrant if he is somewhere else. Of course not valid if CPS/ police not interested in the case.

Bizarre language from Ofcom. Damning of free speech. Damning too of the public’s ability to listen and make up their own minds.

Language of a state wanting more censorship.

Why?

I want to know what he has to say for a start. They let Dorris and Chump lie deliberately. Does Icke lie or speak what he thinks is true?

I would like to hear him specially  about cashless society and 5G

I don’t believe the Government Liars. The Chancellor just said they had been making the right decisions at the right time. That is a blatant lie. Maybe I should ring Offcom

Too true WD.

The deplatforming of people with different views is a real worry. The so called mainstream plus MPs can say what they like but God forbid any of us question the narrative.

Would Ofcom allow discussion on George Orwell I wonder....

The lame 'fire in a theatre' argument is always brought up by people who would like state approved speech. You can't say there is a bomb on a plane either. People expressing opinions is a totally different matter.

Twizzle - that's so right...where does the line get drawn? As all those you mentioned have said...it's US average folk who are next - very sinister indeed.

As for where Dave lives...in a modest one bedroom flat on the Isle Of Wight - and drives a normal used car. Not what the media have told us all in that he's got a fleet of luxury motors and lives in a mansion - ill-gotten gains from his scamming Confused

I don't think we need to OFCOM to confirm he is a nutter.  It's quite lucrative though.....

He once claimed he’s the Son of God and says the world is run by alien lizards. But the story of David Icke’s marriage breakdown is almost as weird

THE audience at the theatre in Times Square, New York, sat in reverential silence as David Icke took the stage and made his great revelation. Our planet, he declared, is secretly ruled by a race of reptile-like aliens. These reptiles, malevolent in nature, sometimes ‘shape-shift’ into human form. The Queen, for example, is a reptilian, President Barack Obama another.

Bonkers, yes. But Icke’s show in November (2011), with tickets costing $50 (£32) a head, was a sell-out, as have been most of the other dates on his world tour, which ends in Britain later this year.

Wherever he goes, thousands flock to see him. Twenty years after the famous TV interview on Wogan, when the once-respected sports commentator became a national laughing stock for saying he was the Son of God, Icke’s brand of loopiness has proved more resilient and lucrative than anyone could have guessed.

Icke will always split opinion.

I never used to consider his worth due to the baggage he carried with him from earlier in his journey, however, I have had to reconsider my opinion over the past year or so as he appears to be on the right side of many things.

I still do not agree with everything he states as i think his hypothesis sometimes strays away from the evidence he has uncovered. That is probably me nit picking

The mere fact that Ofcom are censoring him only endorses the fact that he is hitting nerves and that they want to try and suppress his opinion.

Ask yourself this, If he is so outlandishly wrong why not get him on national TV and discredit him in front of the millions that would watch ??? ConfusedConfusedConfused
