Perhaps the pubs could re open at the same time as non essential shops etc based on the square footage of the premises.Everybody keeps a safe distance and gets a max of 10 pints or maybe 2 hour slot.
at the best of times nothing worse than a barmaid / barman being tied up for 10 mins as someone orders 3 lattes & then deliberates over the menu ... immediately has to go to find the table number ... returns and thinks about something else & buys a biscuit hopefully if we ever get back to more enlightened times it will be the alcohol which takes preference ... we'll all need one (several)

Geordie makes a good point but equally annoying are the Camra mob, asking for the pint topped up to within a millimetre of the rim then pulling out a notebook and writing an essay about it.

The last time I was in a proper one was in 1977 in North London next to college; billiard table and shepherd's pie with Woman In Love blasting out from the music box. My most recent one (if I'd call it) was at the Drunken Monkey in Shoreditch; nice food but music was far too loud for 2pm saturday.

Village pub less than 200 yards away, nearly every morning when walking the dog I would see a couple of I guess semi retired guys from adjoining village clocking in about 10.30 - 11,know them quite well by now as they spend plenty of time outside even in winter for a cig, anyhow yesterday I spotted them walking across the pub car park with what I can only presume was a bag full of booze heading for the beer garden which is nicely secluded.
