I dislike him but you can't dismiss him as an idiot because he's not, I thought this was a brilliant tweet he sent a few years ago, summing up the situation in a very pithy manner.

Goes without saying that you shouldnt trust everything Trump says but when you get two hack journalists, one so desparate to be relevant, waxing lyrical about what leaders have done wrong, particularly when one of those leaders is openly critical of journalism, my bullsht detector goes off the scale.

Pretty much everything Piers said could be levelled back at him and the media. A time for calm, a time for empathy, a time for factual information.

Regardless of whos more right, whos more wrong, who started it, of course Piers Morgan is going to criticise Trump for criticising journalists.

I thin Morgan has criticised him because too many people were saying for a while now that Trump had him in his pocket and he was flattered the president of America followed him on twitter and it was affecting his credibility as an independent journalist, so now it's a great opportunity to show people otherwise by criticising him especially as he's probably calculated Trump wont be reelected as the economy has gone down the swanee, and that's what he builds his campaigns on "make America great again" and where he gained from promising jobs in the rust belt states, those swing states, even before Corona Virus manufacturing jobs in the 4 key swing states were taking a sharp downturn. Piers probably thinks, he's no good to me anymore, better reel some respect back and go all in.

The likeness is that Trump will be re-elected however as he's knows how to play the victim very well, blame the media, protest against being locked up/lockdown, blame China, blame the elites, establishment etc, and Biden is not a strong enough rival, so if I were a betting man I say he's probably miscalculated and wont be getting any more exclusive interviews for the next 4 years

I don't like him either. I'm not sure if this Care minister was ambushed or edited unfairly, but this did not look good for her. Even worse than Hancock grinning like a cheshire cat on QT a couple of weeks ago. For supposedly intelligent, media-savvy people they have been either very dumb, or hopelessly out of touch with the public mood.

He's a bellénd and have only watched a few recent clips. Asks a yes/no question and if he doesn't get yes/no just interrupts them. I like that. Should turn off their microphone as soon as they attempt to dodge the question.

Why is the government being informed by this questionable science?

No he just goes for the 'Gotcha' moment, beleiving the minister should be wearing a hair-shirt and bowing thir heads whilst his mock 'Chinese trial' is given free rein.

You are correct in that some of the media give politicians and easy ride but its not about giving them an easy/hard ride, its about educating the public as to what is happening. 99% of the media coverage has been noise from which no one has learned anything. Then out of the blue an NBC hack asked a question about the virulence of the virus and how easily it was transmitted....

Its the media age and politicians can't have it both ways ... Doris; Gove; Raab etc want lots of publicity when things are going well but hate any criticism put to them; obviously it aplies to Labour politicians also .... they court publicity because they think it gives them kudos to the viewer (+ potential voter) and TV / Radio / Papers want more and more of it because it fills time and space
Perhaps our politicians should go back to an age I remember of Heath / Wilson / Callaghan & even Thatcher ... as I remember they appeared on TV only when its required to give information to the public which is necessary ...  other than that at election time (public information / election broadcasts) ...
