History will show that Britain was still locked in a Battle for Brexit three and a half years after the referendum. Some people inability to accept a democratic decision left Britain unprepared, our focus was on Brexit when news of this outbreak first came to light. If Brexit had been settled we would have been much better prepared

They were worried the NHS was going to be sold. The USA couldn't afford it now.

A lot of politicans and the medi that are critical of Britain's response and preparation to this pandemic are same ones who tried to delay Brexit history will judge these people harshly their actions have indirectly been responsible for many avoidable deaths the British political focus was elsewhere at the start of the crisis and that is how it will be remembered

Brexit was officially done long before the pandemic arrived. What were people so terribly busy with from November to say March in regards to Brexit?

If nobody deemed it necessary to prepare for a pandemic in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 - I think it's questionable that they would've deemed it necessary in the winter of 2019/2020 without Brexit (or with a Brexit that happened half a year earlier if it hadn't been for the Tory in-fighting and self-sabotage)

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/03/28/exercise-cygnus-uncovered-pandemic-warnings-buried-government/

There was not enough personal protective equipment (PPE) for the nation's doctors and nurses. The NHS was about to “fall over” due to a shortage of ventilators and critical care beds. Morgues were set to overflow, and it had become terrifyingly evident that the government’s emergency messaging was not getting traction with the public.

This was a drill. Code-named Exercise Cygnus, it took place in October 2016 and involved all major government departments, the NHS and local authorities across Britain. The modelling for the outbreak was prepared by the same team that is tracking the all-too-real Covid-19 pandemic now. And as the Sunday Telegraph reveals, it showed gaping holes in Britain’s Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) plan.

Up until 90s Britain had reserves of food fuel and equipment in warehouses the length of the country but with the end of the cold war and creeping march of globalisation and cost cutting these vital supplies have been run down I can remember delivering mail to the emergency planning office in Carlisle Castle back in the 80s and 90s I wonder if such organisations still exist?
Just as I said earlier history will examine this pandemic from the start till the finish and the politicians media and the actions of others will all be laid bare we live in a digital age there is no place for these people to hide
