A lot of people who do the actual treatment aren't NHS employees. GPs aren't employed by the NHS, for instance. Nor are agency nurses. And then there's my mate's wife, who is a self-employed psychiatrist and does a couple of days of NHS work a week.
What some of the 1.3 million people who actually ARE employed by the NHS are doing is a bit of a mystery. |

Maybe there are 2.7 million people who do work FOR the NHS, in addition to the 1.3 million actually employed by it. That wouldn't surprise me at all.
