At this time of national crisis, it is important that you make a positive contribution to lift the spirts of others. I make my contribution by continuing to allow the good people of Aberdeen to see my handsome face when I am out and about

But it does mildly interest me that when I walk the one and half miles to the fish and chip shop, there are no mask-wearers at one end of the road, but lots at the far end. Presumably there is a shop just round the corner with a big sign in the window saying "we sell masks here".

Spotted someone in a mask on Monday . Driving a Corsa , no passengers and with the windows closed . Must've thought it may enter the vehicle through the air vents

Yes I do!...and gloves no matter how warm is and wooly hat
Those automation machines for self service require skin on screen so when I get back home I scrub my hands thoroughly.
When you study infection rates in Hong Kong, Singapore & South Korea where face mask wearing is almost universal you will understand why

1 - It limits the spread of any of the output of sneezing and coughing by the wearer 2 - It provides the wear with protection from the output of sneezing and coughing by others 3 - It limits the ability of the wearer to place their hands in contact with their mouth and nose
Depending on who you wish to listen to, the benefits derived from aspect 1 is significantly greater than the benefits from aspect 2.
There will also be a psychological benefit derived from wearing a mask. Again, dependent on who you wish to listen to, this may lead to a false sense of security.
There are three aspects to wearing a mask.1 - It limits the spread of any of the output of sneezing and coughing by the wearer2 - It provides the wear with protection from the output of sneezing and coughing by others 3 - It limits the ability of the

Everyone I've seen wearing a mask has been continually touching their face to adjust it.
Seems far safer not to wear one, particularly as the key to avoiding infection is not to touch the eyes and mouth (and not to stick your finger in your nose either, if you're so inclined).
Washing my hands when I get home, and not touching my face until I do so, has worked fine for me so far.
If you're in an enclosed space close to someone coughing for a period of time, then a weapons-grade mask would be of benefit. Moving away from the person coughing would be even better.

very uncomfortable to wear
lots of masks i see are simple pieces of cloth to cover nose and mouth and probably not so intrusive

Tbf I feel pretty safe in the supermarket. I really wear it because I shop for my mother. Most people are pretty good. There aren’t that many ignorant and rude people or rather I have not seen any yet.
