Stay at home and save the NHS.

He actually lives at No.11, the living accommodation is larger than at No.10 and he kicked Javed out to bag it.

Makes sense though for him to be away from there though, they are workplaces with lots of staff there on a daily basis.
Needs to get himself fully recovered. Like it or not, he is the PM.

Myself and Angoose raised this on the Boris being discharged thread yesterday, reg. It had a kind of inevitability there would be one, they were just too slow to act imv, I'm sure an apology will be forthcoming Grin

It was the CMO not the politician, where her whole family bounced between the two properties. The PM has been discharged after being close to death in ICU, his pregnant fiance joining him in his recuperation is nothing but logical and reasonable.
Report Whisperingdeath April 13, 2020 6:55 PM BST
That’s great

Cider House Rules apply

I shall be going to my London abode later this week. I am bored in the sticks it is only logical and reasonable that a change of scenery will do me the world of good.

Apparently all of the mothers of Johnson's undeclared children have demanded that they can sit out the lockdown at Chequers, going to get very crowded Shocked

In a one in a million chance the rozzers stopped the car elisjohn's son was travelling, and when the asked what he's doing he explains he's off to see his Dad who has just been discharged after being critically ill, yes I know for a fact there would be no sanction.

Report impossible123 April 13, 2020 7:28 PM BST
I'd have done exactly the same if I was Boris post ICU eg removed myself away from London (and work), off to 2nd (holiday) home for a bit of fresh air, recuperation and private time with fiancee. Boris could even have a walk outside Chequers which is not possible at No 10.

Let's hope his riff-raff (Dominic) friends stay away. Just do not know what infectious diseases they could be harbouring that lot of sleaze bag.
Report Whisperingdeath April 13, 2020 7:30 PM BST

Cider is just having a laff. Nobody is seriously defending Borris and his inactions.
Report Cider April 13, 2020 7:33 PM BST
Sky had some footage of someone towing a boat being stopped who was allowed to continue ffs. So visiting parents after they've been discharged from ICU yes he might just get away with it Laugh

We predicted this on another thread yesterday Cider.

The miserable anti-Boris anti-Carrie leftists dont seem to understand the guy is The Prime Minister. Whoever that is it is only right he (or she) is protected and goes wherever he wants with whoever he wants so he can get fighting fit to return to the battle. He is not some random guy (like most of us in here) sitting this war out on the sofa.

It is the morons who moaned that he even got tested and the fear of the political correct types that meant he did not want to been seen to be 'queue jumping' the NHS that meant he almost died in the first place. There needs to be urgent all-party review of the protocols to protect the PM and senior ministers to make sure nothing like this ever happens again. Of course the PM should 'queue jump' and be protected at all costs. You would not see Trump or Macron or Merkel or any other leader in this situation.
Report Ramruma April 13, 2020 8:48 PM BST
The Cabinet Minister closest to the Scottish doctor who had to resign is Robert Jenrick who moved his family to his second (or third or fourth) home and then claimed it was his primary abode.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2020/04/09/cabinet-minister-robert-jenrick-drove-40-miles-visit-parents/

He'd probably have been sacked already except that Boris was on sick leave at the time.

Comparing Bojo to any joe public is akin to comparing the UK and Niger (the poorest nation) in economic terms. Of course Bojo must be accorded every available resource at the NHS and country disposal. He's the Prime Minister, and the most powerful person in the UK.
Report nineteen points April 13, 2020 10:00 PM BST
that doesnt give him a free reign to lie and deceive
Report impossible123 April 13, 2020 10:28 PM BST
I do not like Bojo as a politician, but he's significantly better than the other lot of misfits most of whom were there because of political correctness or cronyism. Every politician is economical with the truth sometimes to get on or to belong - it's politics. But, he's not a convicted liar in court like one or two.

Bojo is  an elected leader of his Party, and an elected Prime Minister with a large majority. And, for that I respect his position as Prime Minister esp in this climate. Will I vote for him (again) next time? I'd think so unless he makes a complete hash of his "reign" or the other lot has a miraculous political recovery.

Hi Akak

Not yet. A couple more days.

Do me a favour please. Say something in defence of Dorris and the Governments handling of this crisis.

In fact say something about how brilliant Therese Coffey was on TV this morning.

Laughter is the best cure
Report Akak April 14, 2020 10:42 AM BST
I could not possibly attempt to defend the governments handling of this crisis. Only member of government deserving any credit at the moment is Rishi Sunak. However, common sense tells me, the situation would be so much worse if Corbyn and his honchos were dealing with this. And yes, Cheltenham should never been allowed to go ahead.
Report Whisperingdeath April 14, 2020 10:50 AM BST
Thank you. I do think it was tough to call the lockdown certainly I as a member of the public would have criticised the Government but by the time they called it we already knew we were in trouble I keep harking in about my proposed trip to Italy on March 13th for the Rugby but my group knew it wasn’t worth the risk.

Most people supported the lockdown when it finally happened but they knew what was going on well before the public. They had calls from Italy and France and only locked down when France threatened to close its borders with us.

This pandemic is not the bad one. We have been lucky.

Btw Akak I will be in the third park bench nearest to The Notting Hill GateWink underneath the parakeets
