I have started recently using the WhatsApp video cam to keep in touch with friends and family. I have the volume button on the side of my phone turned up to the maximum and the sounds setting on my phone is also at 100%. However, I have trouble hearing the people at the other end even though they all can hear me clearly. Is there anything else I can do to sort the problem.

can you hear them at all? make sure they have authorised their whatsapp to access their microphone if not. Also try turning up volume while the call is active if that's not the issue.
I can hear them but not very loudly. Everyone of them have said that they can hear me clearly. My volume is turned up to its loudest. I'll try the volume switch while I'm on my next call to see what happens.
earphones with a mic i mean, the ones you get with the phone. If it's an iphone the remote control on the earphones you get with it has a mic. You often see people talking with the phone in their hand and earphones in who don't realise this.
Thanks lurks. The earphones did the trick. I've never had them out of the box.
