I bet NH racing and wouldnt be surprised if a renewed outbreak ruins next season as well. Hoping we can get some meetings behind closed doors as large gatherings could be years away the way we are reacting at the moment.

I am just about getting used to not losing money and it feels pretty good.

Certainly haven’t missed betting at all. Feels a bit like a detox whatever that is.

I have really missed reading the horse racing form and to see if i can find one. Plus robbing Tiger Roll of stardom is hard on the horse and connections.

Also football helped us know when the weekend was on.

I actually watch a lot dog racing in the evenings on Racing post TV , so I do miss that ..

Feel sorry for the pro bettors but hopefully they have a bigger enough bank to last 3 months.

But you could argue that if we get out of this soon then pubs/restaurants will think its 1999.

I can a massive upsurge on going out if we get out of this within the next month or 2.

Clearly lots of pubs/restaurants will have closed by then but hopefully the governments will help them out, I really want to hear their is a business rate stop whilst they are closed.

Friend of mine has a couple of bars says he won't reopen, the problem is like my late dad used to say 20 years ago half  the money never went through the till now nearly evey penny does. obviousley the French or in this case British government knew this to be the case so they over taxed the visable money to make up for the cash in hand, but they have not realigened the taxation to reflect this fact leaving pubs and restaurants over taxed.
Steve he ownes the bars says that although the bars can be full and the takings  exeed a million per year he still is not making any money after tax wages rent vat pensions etc

Your points, hopefully the surge will get more work for everyone, dont forget before this lockdown their wasnt enough people to fill roles (full employment etc)

Your 2nd point is about socialising, its 50/50 whether its cheaper to eat indoors unless you have a big family and eat on a budget, not everyone lives in the poverty that is spun. The things i have learnt in the last 3 weeks is that i dont go out often enough with my friends and family but now i am feeding ducks.

Eating at home doesnt ever equal the quality of interaction with other people.

We can only try be positive

Certainly something wrong on most companies exist on a weekly intake.

You would think most businesses would have enough in the bank to last 3 months.

From what I am told most pub and restarants live from week to week or hand to mouth a couple of good weeks will be wiped out by one bad one, and this time of year after the slow after xmass period is usualy a good period so a double kick in the teeth

The simple fact is there is not enough profit in the game anymore its heavely screwed down. Steve has 50 people on the books takings are over a million per year yet he is still robbing Peter to pay Paul now that says to me there was already something wrong with the system

I was a pub man but then moved away from that village into a town so i do have my 'locals' that i visited once or twice a week but not like i did in my village.

I get the point of cheap drinking from home, i have tried and tested it but it isnt and wont be the same as getting it poured in a pub, if we were worried about the cost of a pint we would not be out in the first place.

Its the social part of it all, sitting at home drinking will only lead to one thing.

Rather than the internet which we dont even have the chance to even dream or pretend. The internet is cynical, you are either pretty or you are not.
