There is "emerging evidence" to suggest coronavirus is having a disproportionate impact on people who are black, Asian and minority ethnic.
Research suggests that more than a third of patients who are critically ill in hospital with the virus are from these backgrounds.
It comes after Labour called for an urgent investigation into why these communities are more vulnerable.
Well i would suggest the answer is perhaps very Simple , as I have stated before the dream of Diversity has turned into a nightmare .............
Piling millions of People into Already over crowded Areas , What percentage of the population in these areas are non ethnic ?
Another fantastic BBC Victim Headliner .... Before making such Statements can we have figures ??
They bring up some strange Figures from the 2011 census ...
Well here is a Figure from the same census
At the 2011 census, London had a population of 8,173,941. Of this number 44.9% were White British. 37% of the population were born outside the UK, including 24.5% born outside of Europe. So Using that if only 33 % are Victims ,they are lucky , why are 67 % of the white population Victims ?

SCD occurs among about 1 out of every 365 Black or African-American births.
SCD occurs among about 1 out of every 16,300 Hispanic-American births.
About 1 in 13 Black or African-American babies is born with sickle cell trait (SCT).
Because - It is in their GENES
A particularly serious complication of sickle cell disease is high blood pressure in the blood vessels that supply the lungs

Isn't the 34% figure for the whole UK, not just London ? The non white population of the UK is - officially - 14%, so 34% seems awfully high. Though London will be overrepresented in the national figure.
2011 figures meaningless, I suppose they've nowt else to use, but still.............
Tobe it is because the overpopulated areas in the Country LONDON , BIRMIGHAM etc Have high Ethnic Propulations .

Genes could be a possible factor . The Moors invaded Italy and Spain who have had a higher occurrence of the virus in Europe . But there are many other factors that can be contributed to the figures .
Genetic is a possibility however, the more likely reasons could be/given were multi-generational households (close proximity), reliance of places of worship and community centres (social gatherings), health condition like diabetes and high-blood pressure (diet), low-paid jobs and key workers (frontline/direct contact/exposure).
You've nailed it casemoney. Not meaning to be offensive, but anyone with half a brain could figure out that the figures are disproportionate because ethnic minorities live disproportionately in cities.
