Absolutely raking it in . Record sales and total lack of essentials . Everything is top dollar or premium products . No flour , no oil...paid £3.50 for organic rapeseed oil which is your ordinary vegetable oil costing £1 . Still paying their front line staff minimum wages.....filth

before all this sh!te   virus etc   I woz in waitrose (I only shop there because of the riff raf elsewhere)   there was NO LOBSTER BISQUE

I gave the staff a real blast for their intransigence  -  I mean  - none at all!!   Did they know this virus thing was coming

I have my suspicions, although there was plenty of guinea fowl and woodcock breasts

I would agree. When I was a working class oik it tasted like  regurgitated  Snipe poo.

Now it tastes of the sea and sky and freedom.  But then I am of the Labour Islington dining set these days.

One moves up.

tesco estimate it will cost 650 - 925 million of extra costs feeding  the nation, sales uplift and business rate relief may offset the higher costs

you have no idea how hard it is to organise a weekend dinner party - when you consider who you cannot leave out - ie the political correctness that has to be maintained

it is a headache I can tell you and I would expect a bit more empathy for my position

'moisok', "once a working class always a working class". Class is born not acquired!

the lesser classes simply do not understand - I often have to get the polis to clear the beggars away on a saturday evening soiree

life can be such a struggle

Some of it is supply as well, must be a big decrease in haulage through continent.

It is odd seeing stuff that is always on offer full price, you avoid it and get similar if able,i tend to agree with the op.
Disappointed if they are getting minimum wage,no wonder if so that the extra staff aren't in the main for the extra business but in for employees legging it from the virus.

It is minimum wage stuff but the staff get decent staff discount on everything from a tin of beans to a top of the range telly. Flushgordon probably would be able to say as he works for Tesco.

the only contact they get is from the end of the polis's boot

like the rest of the politicos  we pretend to be on their side but we would NEVER invite them to dinner

I hope the "elites" are putting their hand in their pocket and at least buying a bottle of hand sanitiser instead of leaving it to the not so elites to make some effort in having some form of health and safety.

The amount of stuff that is ending up in the bin is horrific
Saw some pics of bins rammed with edible food, are people that thick to believe the expiry dates are gospel??
