Well it appears to have passed between human and big cats in Bronx zoo so who knows

My cat is not yet coughing?????
It means the virus has to jump to another species, who knows? It is like a permanent Sunday near me, very few people about, doubt my cat would infect anyone. and he is shy of people anyway. If I am advised to keep him in I would. Harder for dog owners because dogs really need a daily walk on lead of course |

There was a German study of homes of Covid-19 victims which found no coronavirus on their pet cats' fur. That's not quite the same thing as whether cats can be infected so just to be on the safe side, I'm putting off buying a pet tiger.

I suspect this could be a one off but if other mammals can catch it and carry the virus, we are all in very big trouble.
