So they do their shift and go home to whoever with a massive increase % of passing this thing on?
|
|
By:
YES STEVE

I'm really surprised at how little seems to make it onto the news feed..I understand that there is only a certain amount they would/should be showing...but to seriously get it into the public thinking they have to show more than a 10 second sob from a social media nurse

Caught a 20 minute interview with a Dr Al, an "A & E consultant from Manchester", on 5Live's Nolan show whilst in the tub last night. Quite moving and very eye-opening, assuming it's not a "set-up" - as some of the likely lads in here might assert. From 40:43 ...
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000h229 Found this 34 minute's worth while looking for it. Not listened to it yet. Same fella. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0877mb2 My very best wishes to your family, peckerdunne. Their - and your - thoughts on the first clip would be good to hear if you get a chance. Thanks. |

They can't even lock the parks ffs.
If parks are open people go in, it's uncommon sense. In Ireland parks got locked a couple of weeks ago. Tories won't listen, think they know best, the are egotistical scum and parasites. |

By:
i know someone working with covids and i can assure you it's terrible ... most news not getting out ,haven't seen any cameras in the wards ...staff not allowed to post on facebook etc .... no wonder so many staff off ill
![]() worse still in private care homes ... at this juncture maybe the carers should walk out and let some of the scumbag owners deal with the situation ?... more nurses dying on a pittance wage is unnacceptable |

Trilby that's kind but no thanks to me.
I have worked in a hospital theatre many moons ago, some will be surprised to hear. I am not a qualified doctor or any such thing but i have been in work for open heart surgery etc, that said i can't pretend to be able to convey the feelings of all those working in the front line today. I can tell you that everyone is scared, in a big way, that everyone is now being trained in the use of ventilators and also the best practice of ICU. Many young kids not fully qualified are coming on line with immediate effect. The issues are mant and well known now, i could go into more detail but no point. All i can say is that WHO practice and that of Royal academy are not conjoined and the Government to add keep moving the goalposts and changing guidelines to suit their own needs, which is as always mostly spin whilst the qualified folk deal with the actual hardship and that's neither fair nor pleasant. It's a disgrace, a shambles, and old folk who went to work, paid their way and built a country and society are getting left behind, literally. |
|
By:
the old folk are eventually going to have to be sacrificed if too many nurses/carers get ill ...we can't risk the lives of young carers ffs ..it's not fair
|
|
By:
Jesus christ, i just started listening to Dr Al when he said this i froze.....
At the current rate in a couple of week we will have one ventilator for every 8 patients we will have to let 7 go....................im still in shock............. |
|

TORIES |
|
By:
They won't be ill if they have PPE,it's absolutely criminal..
|
|
By:
the test is not picking up 30% of the cases and it's essential to be on a ventilator early to have any chance of survival....
|
|
By:
staff are all going to be infected one by one, it's inevitable..
i think i want to cry lads, really... Boris you and yours are some horrible bunch of filth |
|
By:
we each have toothbrush and shaving packs at the ready, when the peak comes we wont be going home
Isolation period is 14DAYS |
|
By:
Tories ,Labour ...whatever ... none of them have any fooken savvy
![]() there will be an outcry if PPE is stored at hospitals where isn't being used |
|
By:
TRILBY THE SECOND LINK IS JUST INCREDIBLY MOVING AND PROFOUND.
And worrying |
|
By:
They have now been given free parking and a microwave meal . Hoorah !!! for the government .

my daughter is an FY1 (Junior Doctor in Scotland) and whilst she obv cant say too much covid19 is everywhere and PPE is a joke
people are still being too blaise about this and more NHS staff will die as a result I feel heartbroken for those kids of the nurses who died doing their job and no longer have a mum and its not only NHS staff, bus drivers, taxi drivers, carers, shop staff etc have all died simply going to work and people still question the lockdown? |
|
By:
ABSOLUTELY NEC
Good luck to daughter |
|
By:
Best wishes to your daughter N-E-C. It must be worrying for you all. Hope that she stays safe mate.

By:
thank you guys and hope your family stay safe at work peckerdunne and of course the families of all on here
its an incredibly worrying time as every new admission is a potential corona case but she seems to be taking it in her stride atm |
|
By:
Good luck to your girl NEC, worried for mine and her hubbie, the young are too blase about this disease. Like nothing I have ever known in my life.

My niece is now working on a covid ward. The hospital has a two-floor policy with worst cases on top floor and people just admitted on first floor. She's working on the first floor. People on top floor have proper PPE as it should be but on their floor they still only have basic stuff. That is wrong. They're also working 12 hour shifts which can't be good.

I think those on the frontline such as NHS staff ought to be paid "danger" money during this period eg 10x present pay, income tax-free, 6 months all expenses paid holiday locally and priority of the housing ladder.
I'd not even volunteer to assist any NHS staff treating eg those vain barstewards sunbathing in the park, journeying to their 2nd home away from London, etc, to the countryside. |
