There is an upper limit on salaries of £2,500 per month, or £30k per year.
The 80% is applied on actual salary up to the upper limit. Details, details. |
By:
upper limit is too high - should be half that. banks should have to freeze mortgage repayments. if you've got a loan on a flash car, etc. tough luck why shpuld the taxpayer have to pay for it.

By:

My partner has worked all her life in education. PAYE , self employed or agency work , whatever she had to do to earn a living . The continual drop in education funding meant schools are now run as a business so they are run close to the bone and so they rely on agency workers rather than paying holiday pay or sick pay to contracted staff . She was on long term supply util the end of the school year . When schools were closed she was left with no wages and no idea of what would happen . She has now been informed that she is furloughed but has received nothing and does not know how much , when or if she will receive anything .....
By:
Why is there a NEED TO SHOUT
![]() |

By:
Eyeball she will receive 80% of her basic salary which she is contracted for. Payments due in May I believe: have a read of this

An across the board payment was the way to go Eye 300 a week as AT suggested, everyone getting a few quid , its all wrong
These mobs now have the country paying car leases loans etc , loan freezes or cant pay they take the Audi away, get a Punto and crack on with it ..... And a bonus for our front line workers , foooking mobs standing around clapping WALOFS ... |
By:
So hopefully your employer will pay their staff on normal monthly due date and claim back from govt, unless of course they are skint, but I would imagine the education board will be able to pay her on due date. Smaller private companies may have to wait till they receive govt payment unfortunately.
By:
Deeplaster , I know what it says but the agencies are still clearing up the details with the government , apparently . They have no idea how much she will get because work is sporadic throughout the year . It is a wait and see scenario......thanks anyway

My Mrs has had to Isolate due to me , Works in Pharmacy she is needed there , Never takes a day off , prob be on 90 quid a week through no fault of her own ,the whole carry on is wrong ...
By:
If she's paid thru an agency that's different, I would imagine it will be some time in May unfortunately as those agencies can be pack of coonts at the best of times allegedly.
By:
are the payments taxable De do you know ?

Daughter and sister in law work for the nhs . None have been tested . One works front line a&e . If it is so dangerous why are they being treated like ww1 cannon fodder . I don't understand . Silly plastic gown and gloves and a dopey mask .
By:
Case - yep pretty sure the 80% pay is taxable (&NI)
By:
Taxed as normal Case, basic less tax free allowance - deductions: tax/NI = net pay.
