Didn't stand a chance on the last one, was referencing a different film!

I may stand corrected here but I think that Brubaker was Morgan Freeman's first credited film.
Report Albert Einstein April 1, 2020 5:43 PM BST
Think you may be right Aspro.
I was looking for clues from 'An Unfinished Life'. Doh!
Report pumphol. April 1, 2020 5:46 PM BST
Eye Level great question, only O level standard for most of mine, I reckon an hour max to get the lot.
Report Aspro April 1, 2020 5:46 PM BST
I haven't seen that one Albert. When I finish a film (not before) I usually check out the trivia on IMDB... fascinating stuff
Report politicspunter April 1, 2020 5:48 PM BST
Well, i checked brubaker but as Freeman only had a small part, rejected it. I was raking through the unfinished life also. I nearly got 16 much earlier but went for the wrong law, denis (by blondie) was my try.
Report hfink April 1, 2020 6:15 PM BST
Hi Aspro, had to break off early today but just got back to check the answers, as was especially interested in the Redford one (as already tried to connect the Brubaker film, a film I have enjoyed watching several times). Actually thought of 'freedom' (due to it being a prison of course). But all I could remember was a scene where Freeman's character was demanding changes to his cell, or such like, so I rejected any thoughts of 'freedom'. Doh!  Oh well. Sometimes the obvious is the obvious! Hope it was a good day for everybody anyway Happy
Report Aspro April 1, 2020 6:20 PM BST
I only watched it again recently myself hfink and you're right about his scenes; they were limited. Tracey Ullman's 'Sunglasses' might also have been an equal fit to the clue.
Report hfink April 1, 2020 6:26 PM BST
Ah yes, good point, he gives all the guys who have been in long time confinement sunglasses when they get out!  That was a good scene!  It's a darn good film. He's made some good stuff over the years has Redford, especially late 60's and through 1970's of course - the best movie era! WinkHappy
Report Aspro April 1, 2020 6:28 PM BST
People rave about De Niro and Pacino (and rightfully so), but I personally put Redford up there with them.
Report hfink April 1, 2020 6:31 PM BST
Definitely agree there. In films like Jeremiah Johnson, Downhill Racer, The Great Waldo Pepper (all underrated), he does a superb job.
Report Aspro April 1, 2020 6:39 PM BST
Just a final reminder to everyone. Pumphol will be giving us his version of 'Name These Songs' from 11am tomorrow. I will return on Friday (early afternoon probably) to do another on 'Bands'
Report Albert Einstein April 1, 2020 7:15 PM BST
Hey Aspro, I normally check out IMDB before I watch a film, for the rating mainly.
Agree with Redford, a class act, and still making good films.
The Brad Pitt of his day for the younger forumites.

Co-starred in my 2nd favourite film of all-time, 'The Sting',
and have thoroughly enjoyed a couple of his later ones,
'The Old Man and The Gun' and 'All is Lost'.

Legend, along with Clint.
Report politicspunter April 1, 2020 7:20 PM BST
I thought "The Natural" was great.
Report Albert Einstein April 1, 2020 7:37 PM BST
Brilliant as well pp.
Report Aspro April 1, 2020 7:38 PM BST
There's a few on here I either haven't seen or have forgotten them, so they will be going on my watchlist. 'The Natural' isn't one of them, as I've seen this one several times and also own a copy; a superb addition to all those mentioned.
