Another day, another two milestones hit in France and the UK, their paths are now very similar.
Germany will arrive at a milestone tomorrow, reaching 1,000 deaths 10 days after reaching their 100th. I've also added Sweden to the tracker, they have a relatively small population, but are starting to see exponential growth. ![]() |

Another day, another milestone, Germany hitting the 1,000 mark.
This is an interesting one, Germany having being widely praised for the volume of their testing and apparent low death rate. However, their growth rate from the first 100 deaths is now higher than that of the UK and just below that of France and Italy. Once this virus has taken hold in a country, it is merciless. We can but hope that lockdown measures and the smart use of testing data can bring it under control. ![]() |

A terrible day for France, 2116 new cases and 1,355 new deaths, including 884 fatalities in nursing homes that occurred over a period of several weeks and that were announced only today.
There has been a significant drop off in the number of new cases reported in the last two days. Let's hope that this trend continues. ![]() |

Another day, another milestone with the UK hitting 4k, a gap of three days from the previous milestone.
The similarity between countries is quite striking, strongly suggesting that there ought to be more cross border discussions on how to unwind from the lockdown restrictions than there currently is. ![]() |
