It started off in the posh areas ...now it's simply transposed to

poorer areas and  those with high numbers in households ,smokers and high transmission rate

Earlier this week the government said it was investigating the reasons behind a hotspot emerging in the region. Anecdotal evidence suggested people’s religious convictions and fears of social isolation could be leading to a sharp rise in the number of coronavirus transmissions in the area.

In an interview with the Guardian, the Birmingham MP Khalid Mahmood said older Muslim and Sikh people in the area were struggling to adhere to government guidelines about physical distancing because of their religious convictions.

Despite most religious services being cancelled, some older people were allegedly continuing to attend mosques and gurdwaras to pray, Mahmood said. Another theory suggested panic buying in supermarkets, with people queueing next to each other for hours to pay for their goods, could be contributing to the large cluster.

A virus like this will always spread. But the jetset lifestyle has ensured it's spread much quicker.

Must be something in the grey peas and bacon

jet set lifestyle spreads it further but no  faster  ...

the  lower middle classes will be the slowest transmitters ... they seem to be generally the most socially aware and considerate  group  ... the lefties to you and me Grin     working classes will spread it at a much lower rate than  the  underclasses and 'certain other sectors of the population'   ...

I said at the start ,weeks ago on here that this will spread like wildfire when it reaches  west Yorks, Lancashire, Birmingham and certain London boroughs

Sweden will be a most interesting model, no lockdown there.

'Demography may also be a relevant factor in the country's approach. In contrast to the multi-generational homes in Mediterranean countries, more than half of Swedish households are made up of one person, which cuts the risk of the virus spreading within families.'

Immigrants packed in like sardines in many towns though, it will be much tougher in those areas.
