Who are the powers that be?
Report Aspro March 25, 2020 8:21 AM GMT
Strange you should think that John. How else will they keep track of us?
Report Ramruma March 25, 2020 8:36 AM GMT
The powers that be are currently urging us to stay at home and do all our work via internet video-conferencing (which shows the PTB are all office workers).

Can you elucidate please?

There will be anarchy in a democracy like the UK, if so. What for? The MP could be lynched if seen in public for taking away their only mean of communication with their families, loved ones and friends.
Report John.W.Henry. March 25, 2020 9:16 AM GMT
impossible...there will be anarchy when the money runs out and people annot afford to live / eat. Meltdown imminent
Report Aspro March 25, 2020 9:21 AM GMT
And if that perceived meltdown does not happen... what then? 2050?

Covid-19 is a time-limit event given the experiences of China and elsewhere even if it takes longer than 3 moths timeline as indicated by government. If longer, the government will need to provide sustained support until Covid-19 is under control or over - there is no workable alternative. Otherwise, the unthinkable may happen ie many, many, more deaths.

However, we must only opine within the medical advice and known facts and not speculate wildly and irresponsibly as that will only further induce and prolong panic-buying. I believe money in a prolonged "lockdown" is less necessary and secondary.

The UK national debt grows at a rate of £5,170 per second!

£ 37.345
Debt per citizen

£ 64.233
Debt per taxpayer

£2, 325, 160, 900,000 and counting
Report impossible123 March 25, 2020 10:02 AM GMT
Sell the family silver, if necessary. In times of necessity like the present the government will do whatever necessary to facilitate to see us thro' this progressive nightmare; the US has a much larger national debt owed mainly to China.

Something concrete will prevail by friday on self-employed assistance, I firmly believe - it's no rocket science.

Scaremongering is unhelpful!

How much did it cost taxpayers bailing out the banks? Covid-19 is significantly more serious and morally justified thus money is immaterial in the scheme of things.
Report terry mccann March 25, 2020 10:25 AM GMT
The last thing you want to do is bring down the economy but that's what they are doing over a few hundred dead and most not from this virus, and they have done it by   the media frightening the sh1t out of YOU! Btw who owns the media? Well its the same bastards who want to crash the economy and millions of people at the same time. IF you have a loan or mortgage but no job to pay it back, bank on one thing, they will want their money and they will take any asset you have like that lovely house you live in and wonderful Range Rover you worked so hard for. Why are the only winners in situations like this the Bankers? You happily supported this now the devil comes a calling.

impossible....scaremongering is exactly what you are getting rammed down your throat every second of everyday !!! Do you not see it ?????????? ffs

I think you are right JW

I think the shutting down of the internet is a possibility if things get out of hand.
Report Aspro March 25, 2020 11:14 AM GMT
Let's for one minute assume that both JW and Terry are correct. WTF can you/we do about it? Knowing it is going to happen isn't going to solve it... the deed is already done.

The only thing any of us can do is to share what we think we know and hope above all else someone somewhere has the ability and presence to make a difference. As you say as it stands we can do very little apart from share and hope that we can reach a non corrupt body which is capable of making that difference. It is not a game or a time to say told you so this is about convincing others to look beyond the narratives and try to piece together the big picture. At the same time opening yourself up to all sorts of dogs abuse !!! hey ho !!
Report breadnbutter March 25, 2020 11:58 AM GMT
Yes the Internet might well go down due to the volume of people working from home. But the fakenews superspreaders have been mobilised and sowing their seeds of hate, its so easy to see how this country has been manipulated in the past, and even easier now to see who they are.Nothing a couple of weeks in an overcrowded detention facility would not cure imo.
Report Aspro March 25, 2020 1:01 PM GMT
Ironic you should say that BnB... A few years ago, when I was deep into the 9/11 conspiracy, I soon came across all of the detention centres the Americans were building... if indeed that story was true. They may now have a use Scared

The banks were bailed-out not so long ago. And, if they behaved irresponsibly and selfishly eg exploiting Covid-19 to their advantage then expect anger being vented on them in public, and rightly so. I believe HSBC have suspended overdraft fee for 3 months from 1st April up to £300. I hope other banks will follow suit. Similarly, credit card providers.

This is not a banking crisis - it's a national emergency. Thus, every mean of assistance must be made available to customers.

Yes indeed aspro Laugh let's hope the mountains of plastic coffins are not required.... If that story was true

Of course! The plastic coffins... and if memory served, they fit two (or more) per coffin!

Report Charlie March 25, 2020 4:48 PM GMT
Of course "they" wont shut down the internet (I assume you mean the www not the internet). You can't have lockdowns and self isolation with no www. You can't have serious business without the internet.

If anyone is foolish enough to believe "they" will shut it down then give us a date when it will happen. Nobody will stick their neck out and do that as it is easily falsifiable.
