"Emergency Legslation Kicks in Thursday"

I've never liked Thursday myself but there is no need for violence.

Anyone been stopped by the police yet ?

A police force has defended using a drone camera to shame people into not driving into a national park during the lockdown, while another force said it was introducing roadblocks to stop drivers heading to tourist hotspots.

This follows a new law that came into effect on Thursday which allows officers to use force to make people return home.

Derbyshire police tweeted drone footage taken near Curbar Edge, in the Peak District, saying the force had checked the numberplates of vehicles in the car park and some cars were registered to addresses in Sheffield, a 30-minute drive away.

The police forces insist members of the public should not be driving anywhere to walk their dogs or exercise. However, the Guardian checked with the Cabinet Office, which is overseeing the new restrictions on movement, and a spokeswoman confirmed that the guidelines do not prohibit driving somewhere for exercise or dog walking.

It's total nonsense tobermory. People drive by themselves to remote location and walk about in remote location, risk = absolutely miniscule, and are told it's BAD. Go to park with other dog walkers (allowed) or people jogging and walking (you are allowed to do this once a day), risk is much higher.
Packed onto london tube as Khan has cancelled services increasing crowding = OK. WTF.

The Police here doing themselves no favours. We understand why certain measures are for practical reasons in place, and this just stinks of authoritarianism. It's not the walking or CO2 emissions that's a problem, it's proximity to other people and people up hillsides are not in proximity to other people. We're not idiots and they won't encourage support by treating us as such.

Meanwhile, Avon and Somerset Police has apparently told people they are not allowed to drive anywhere to walk dogs or exercise due to the government's ban on all non-essential travel.

Officers from the force were reportedly handing out leaflets to dog walkers stating that 'the government restrictions currently in place do not permit you to use your vehicle to travel to this location to exercise'.
