We still have daily flights arriving from China, Iran, Spain and Italy. Other countries have stopped flights to these countries. The UK has not.

Remember, this is only the first wave.  Spanish flu had three and the second was the worst from memory - but not sure.

Btw, the USA "official" death figures look ludicrously low compared to the number of new daily cases.

Hopefully in a week we will have a better picture on the future, you never know the rising temperatures might help and global warming is good and Greta can go **** off.

The lack of free healthcare in USA may prove to lead to a massive disaster. A virus test cost ball park $1300. Most folks couldn't afford that so just carried on if they had a sore throat etc allowing the virus to spread nationwide.

Then, instead of quoting that post, I accidentally quoted your subsequent post, which by now included the word `new`, but I wasn`t looking too closely, thought I was replying to the first one. On the `Trump` thread, I made a similar mistake about a year ago, and another one a couple of months ago and, on both occasions accepted my mistake and apologised. One of the major differences between good, right thinking people and satan`s little helpers is the ability to recognise fault within ourselves, to apologise, and to learn from it.Therefore, allow me to apologise for this mis-reading, sorry for any confusion caused..

Nevertheless, your first post is casting unnecessary aspersions, as the US mortality rate is in the 1.x% range, in line with the lower end rates of other nations, so certainly nothing `ludicrous` about it.

No apology required, a simple mistake was made. Regarding the mortality rate, it may look very low (ie currently 43449 cases and only 545 total deaths at time of writing) because it has arrived later in the USA and most folks confirmed to be tested positive are in the earlier stages. I may be wrong, I just feel that sadly that deaths figure may start shooting up.
