Anybody remember this series from 1975
Seemed implausible back then but what about now -

Extract from Wiki
Survivors is a British post-apocalyptic fiction drama television series created by Terry Nation and produced by Terence Dudley at the BBC, that broadcast from 1975 to 1977. It concerns the plight of a group of people who have survived an apocalyptic plague pandemic, which was accidentally released by a Chinese scientist and quickly spread across the world via air travel. Referred to as "The Death", the plague kills approximately 4,999 out of every 5,000 human beings on the planet within a matter of weeks of being released.

Planet of the apes with Charlton Heston. The end with the Statue of Liberty was chilling.

I remember it vaguely as a kid being my favourite programme.  There was a remake about 10 years ago, which I didn't watch

I know. How did a load of apes transport a statue of that size to their planet?

They had strong backs to carry it. I might be wrong but still thought it was set on earth only that the spaceship landed in the future

correct Alices ... Chava Heston at his best ... mind you The Omega Man was a great film as well ... remade more recently with Will Smith but can't beat the Original film
